My core code for a life of hospitality:
A poor stranger found his way to a monastery door. At his tentative knock, the door was thrown open and he was greeted with these words of welcome: “Thank God you are finally here! We’ve been waiting for you.”
Jesus is the wandering stranger. His people are my people.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Mat. 24:40)
